The links on this page show you the electric energy budget of the
Madison Christian Community (MCC) building over three time intervals: the previous day, the
previous week and the previous month. We show you graphs of energy used or produced and
tables of costs (or credits) expressed in dollars and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The links are best viewed with Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. Some users of Netscape have reported problems.
Each graph we show has the same structure and shows the electric energy in
kilowatt-hours (kWh) in 15 minute blocks of time plotted against the time of day.
When you click on one of the graph links, you’ll see a display of four small
graphs:
- Total: electric energy used by MCC
- Solar: electric energy produced by the photovoltaic panels
- Grid: electric energy imported from the electric grid system by MCC
- Net: electric energy exported to the electric system grid by MCC
The graphs are aligned in time and use the same vertical scale to allow you to scan
quickly for patterns of interest.
You can click on the right of each of the small
graphs to get a larger view with any notes that have been added and see a summary of costs.
If you are just interested in a summary of the energy costs and credits, you may
click on the links to "Comparative Energy Costs."
On sunny Saturdays,
the MCC often exports energy to other users connected to the grid at mid-day. On weekdays,
the solar panels often produce as much as 20% of the daytime energy needs of MCC and its
tenant, the Middleton Pre-School.
