As a Christian community, Hope is committed to nurturing and affirming the Holy Spirit's movement in each of us as individuals and as a group. We believe that the Spirit calls us to both inward growth and outward stewardship of our respective gifts and talents. Hope has developed a "sounding a call" process to support individual members who feel a calling to do God's work in the community, to share their gifts and ministries. Members have joined together in long and short-term mission efforts including offering sanctuary to Salvadoran refugees, assisting farm families in crisis (Harvest of Hope), serving with the Interfaith Hospitality Network to assist homeless families, serving in Drop-in shelters, and supporting educational programs in Haiti. Members also share their gifts and call by contributing to the life of the congregation through art, music, teaching, organizing and participating in fellowship, caring for each other through our lay ministry "anchors" program, serving on boards, praying for the community and their presence with each other.
