Strengthen the Church Offering Sunday, May 27, 2012

Strengthen the Church, one of four special mission offerings within the United Church of Christ, grows the UCC's future by:
1. Funding new church starts and invigorating existing congregations
2. Nurturing lay and pastoral leadership
3. Building youth and young adult ministries
4. Supporting the God is Still Speaking Ministry and its extravagant welcome for all within the United Church of Christ.

All gifts given by churches in Wisconsin are directed to activities and programs of the Wisconsin Conference, as well as the UCC's national ministries. Please prayerfully consider a generous gift to Strengthen the Church.

 

The Beer and Tavern Ministry aka Froth and Fellowship is back!
Again this summer we will be meeting in the Bier Garten at the Capital Brewery in Middleton on various Thursdays at 5:30 for meaningful conversations with friends, good drinks and plentiful food.  You will find some contingent of Hope/MCC in the Bier Garten on Thursdays May 31, June 14 and 28, July 12 and 26 and August9 and 23.  Don’t miss this relaxed evening of getting to know your friends in faith at the MCC.

 

CoH Women’s Breakfast Group
Solve the World’s Problems With Us--One Cup of Coffee at a Time.
The Community of Hope’s Women’s Breakfast Group meets the first and third Wednesday of every month starting at 7:00 a.  We have no agenda except to listen, learn and laugh with each other at the Hubbard Avenue Diner, 7445 Hubbard Avenue, Middleton, 831-6800.  All are welcome.  Contact Sandra Esrael if you have questions.   

 

Hope Men:  Pancakes, Puns, Proverbs and Politics
Those are just a few of the things you will miss if you don’t get to the Hope men’s breakfast at the Original Pancake House on University Avenue, at 6:30 a. on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. You have promised yourself for a long time now.   Mark your calendar, set your alarm, and make it!

 

What is The Special Fund? At the end of the Community of Hope worship service you will hear a call for requests from the Special Fund.  The Special Fund is a fund administered by Community of Hope and supported by our members and friends that provides short-term emergency assistance to individuals and organizations in need.  Any member of Community of Hope can make a request from the Special Fund on behalf of someone they know or on behalf of an organization they are familiar with that has a need for short term or emergency financial assistance.  The majority of the funds donated to the Special Fund are used for eviction prevention to combat homelessness.  All of the money given to the Special Fund is given away to those in need of assistance.
